Really Fast Recap!

I can not believe that I have gotten so far behind on blogging. This month flew bye! I can not believe that we are already getting into October. So, here is a quick recap of what has been going on...
The twins were baptized! Congrats girls!

Football season started! We always "snack" on football days. It is so cute b/c Haylee will say,

"Is it cootball nack day?"

Beginning next week we will have healthier "nacks" since I am planning on starting my diet...AGAIN!

Madi turned 8 months old!! Our precious baby girl is growing so fast. I can not believe that she will be 1 in 4 months! OMG!

Madi is so precious! She is definitely the baby in the family. Madi is a fast crawler. She pulls up on everything and has begun walking around furniture. Madi is still toothless. I am beginning to wonder if there is anything in her mouth! She is ready to eat real food and so are we. Madi likes to talk about her dada. She just laughs when I try to get her to say mama. Madi's favorite time of the day is bath time. She loves sitting in her bath seat. She likes to chew on the toys and kick her feet in the water. Madi likes her play table, her new jumperoo, and anything that has music.

Madi is wearing 6/9 month clothes and size 3 diapers. She is 18 pounds and have the cutest little leg rolls!

We love you so much!

It turned Fall. I think we had 4-5 days of cool Fall weather last week! It was AMAZING! Here are 3 of my favorite things.

Fall decor, Fall candles, and a Pumpkin Spice latte!

Haylee has a new favorite game...Hide and Seek! We caught a picture of her hiding. It is so cute!

Where is Haylee??

and of course...Our furry children

7 Months Old!

This month has really flown bye. Madi has the sweetest disposition. The baby will smile and cuddle with anyone. It is so precious. Madi has become an early riser since I have been back to work. I wake up at 5 every morning and someone special gets up with me. I think Madi just wants some special "mommy and me" time before I go to work.
Some of Madison's accomplishments this month include:
  • crawling
  • "semi" waving
  • drinking from a straw sippy

Madison loves:
  • bath time (I love to eat wash cloths...

and letters.)

  • being down(loose) on the floor
  • her sister
  • teething biscuits

her blanket (which is my baby blanket)

  • the dogs
  • the game "where is Madi?"

I am not sure on Madi's stats. I will have to weigh her tomorrow. She is still in 6 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Since Madi has become mobile we have had to be creative with out barriers. Here is a picture of a barrier created by Haylee. I think she did a pretty good job! I especially like how she used the golf ball and softball. She is so creative!

It's Over...

and I am SO going to miss these two precious faces!

Tomorrow I go back to work!

For the past few months I have spent 24/7 with my babies. I am so blessed to have a job that allows me time with my children. Although I didn't do 90% of the things I said I was going to do, I did get to spend a lot of quality time with my girls. I was able to see Madi learn to sit up, crawl, and begin "talking". I have been able to watch Haylee absorb and learn so many new things. She amazes me daily with her intelligence and her desire to want to know/learn.

What I will miss the most is watching my two girls love on each other and laugh all day long. I love when Haylee wakes up in the morning and asks if her daddy is home. Then sees her sister(Madi is already awake) and says, "Hi baby Madi, you sleep good?" I love cuddling with Haylee after her nap. I love playing with Madi on the floor in the mornings, before Haylee gets up. Her favorite game right now is, "Where is Madi?". I love cooking breakfast and making cookies with Haylee. I love that Madi smiles ALL the time now, except when she is hungry. I love that Haylee talks NON STOP now.

I could go on and on about all of the little things I will miss about staying home with my babies, but I won't. I just hope that as they get older they will remember summers and the special time that we get to spend together.

On the Move!

Watch out...Madi is on the move. She has been rocking for a couple of weeks and the last few days she has begun moving small "crawls (?), steps". Today was her first day to actually get across the room.
In Haylee's words "Ippeeee" (yipee).

6 Months Old

Wow! 6 months have come and gone. I just can't believe that Madi is already half a year old. Before we know it she will be running around the house with her big sister!
Yesterday I took Madi to Dr. Nelms for her 6 month well baby check up and 6 month shots. Madi has no pain tolerance which is complete opposite of Haylee. Haylee won't even flinch when she gets a shot, Madi will hold her breathe for a good 20-30 seconds and let out the loudest scream. Yesterday another nurse in the office poked her head in the door when she began screaming to make sure everything was alright. She said she had never heard a child scream as loud as Madi was. Poor baby!
6 month stats:
Weight- 14 pounds 15 ounces 32nd percentile
Height- 24 1/2 inches 13th percentile
I really thought she weighed more. Madi has little chunky legs and is getting so heavy in her carrier!
Up Close Shot
Look what I can do!
She just started sitting up yesterday by herself.
Haylee wanted a picture with her sister.
I took about 25 pictures and in every one of them, one of the kids were either looking away or had a strange look. Oh well...they are still cuties!
What is Madi doing at 6 months?
  • Sitting up when put in the sitting position.
  • Rolls EVERYWHERE and is really FAST.
  • Drinks a bottle 4 times a day- 6 oz per feeding
  • Eats and likes all solid foods (have not tried a couple of the meats).
  • Takes 2 naps a day, mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
  • Sleeps 12 hours a night.
  • Loves the excersaucer.
  • Adores her big sister, Haylee.
  • Really wants to crawl! She can pull herself to get to a toy or object she wants.
  • Wears size 3 diapers and 6 month clothes.
  • Smiles at anybody who gives her attention.
  • Loves to hear her own "voice".
  • Cries EXTREMELY loud.
  • My hair doesn't stand up in a mohawk anymore!

We love you baby Madi!

Please check out Madison's totsite. I haven't been as good at it as I was with Haylee's, but I am trying to keep it up to date so I can purchase the cd of the totsite after her 1 year party. Be sure to leave a comment in the guest book so that when she is older she can look back and read what everyone has to say.

Sisters are funny!

It is really easy to make Madi smile. You just look at her and she grins from ear to ear! Haylee is the only one that can make Madi laugh on cue! I watching the girls interact together. Madi LOVES Haylee and Haylee LOVES Madi.

**disclaimer... Sorry Haylee is only in panties. She takes her clothes off and says its hot in the house all the time. I really don't blame her, it is hot! It is her summer wardrobe! :o)

Lots of people ask if the girls look alike. You decide. This is Madi the other day and Haylee when she was just about 6 months, like Madi.

You can tell that Madi likes to eat and Haylee was picky!

I love my girls!

Peek-A-Boo

Madi found herself in the mirror! I heard her giggling in the excersaucer today and realized she was laughing at herself! So cute!

5 Months Old!

This little girl just turned 5 months old! Where does the time go?

Madi, you are such a cutie and in a GREAT stage! You smile a lot! However, you also know that you are the baby in the family and can play that role really well! You have the sweetest "pouty" face and quivering lip.

Madi, you LOVE your big sister! Haylee likes to try to do silly things to make you laugh or "talk" to her.

You love still love to eat! You are eating a 6 ounce bottle 4 times a day and love all fruits and veggies. We haven't tried any meats yet.

You sleep 12 hours a night and take 2 naps during the day.

You love to chew on blankets, your hands, and you just began picking up small toys.

We have just started putting you in the exersaucer, but you don't love it just yet.

You LOVE bath time. You will kick your feet to splash the water.

You like playing "airplane". It makes you laugh.

You are always on a "roll", but you don't like when you are on your tummy. You prefer laying on your back so you can play with your feet.

You wear 3-6 month clothes (closer to the 6 month size) and size 2 diapers.

You are about 14 pounds (give or take a couple of ounces).

You are a precious little girls. We all LOVE you!

Thanks Missy for the picture!

We are on a "roll"!

I have been such a slacker with taking pictures the last couple of weeks! Things have been busy at home and work. Unless you are a teacher, you just don't realize how much work the end of the year is! Melissa sent me a few pictures of my girls that she took yesterday. Thanks Missy!
Here is Haylee! She has some BIG news...
"I am potty trained!"
Haylee has been wearing big girl panties since last Monday and hasn't had any accidents! She decided she was ready to be a big girl! Once school is out in the next couple of weeks I am going to work on night time. Right now we are wearing pull ups to bed. We are so proud of Haylee Bug!
Briley and Haylee
Madi also has some BIG news...
I can roll over now!
This is a great picture of Madi. It really captures her recent look (drool dripping down her face).
Tomorrow Madi will be 4 months old! I will post 4 month stats tomorrow evening.

3 Months Old

I just sat down and realized I didn't take a picture of Madi today on her 3 month birthday! But, I do have this video clip I did. Sorry about the silly mommy voice, I was trying to catch a laugh but all I got was some cooing! I love the sound of babies cooing, don't you? Enjoy!
Happy 3 Months Madi!

What a week!

Can you guess where we have been??

After my post on Monday things went downhill! Haylee's temperature spiked up to 103 and never really broke completely. So I was back to the doctor on Tuesday with both children. Obviously Haylee wasn't any better and Madi was coughing SO much. Haylee was admitted into the hospital and more test were run (chest x-rays and blood work). She ended up have a mild case of pnuemonia. We caught it just in time.

The nurses at Katy Memorial are so Wonderful and took good care of my baby. All of the nurses remembered Haylee from her visit in January. They joked with us that we could stop by and visit we didn't have to come with a sick girl.

Hopefully we won't be a regular!

(obviously an old picture)

was not getting ANY better. She was actually worse. I was back at the doctor with Madi for the 3rd day in a row! This time the doctor said he could hear congestion in her chest and sent me to Christus St. Catherine to run tests on baby girl. She had blood work, chest x-ray, and RSV test.

That evening we found out that Madi has RSV! Luckily she didn't have to go into the hospital that day (or yet for that matter). 2 out of 3 babies end up in the hospital due to the virus. RSV is a respitory virus that is very dangerous to infants. The babies are so small and have such tiny airways that can swell shut. It can also lead to pnuemonia or bhronchiolitis (that is what Haylee had in January) I have a list of symptoms to watch for, the main ones having to do with breathing and eating. You can't give the baby any meds for the virus, it just has to run its course (2-3 weeks...usually days 3-5 are the worst and it starts getting better everyday) . Madi's main symptoms are coughing, A LOT, and congestion. The third day I took her into the dr I noticed some wheezing. She is still on an antibiotic for the ear infections which will also stop any secondary bacterial infections from developing.

I went home with Madi that night while Haylee stayed one more night in the hospital with her daddy. She came home yesterday afternoon.

I think things are on the mend and the kid-os will be feeling better in no time. We have had lots of people offer help to us and are so thankful for it. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful support system from our parents!

Thank You!!

Well, that is what has been going on with the Brew Crew! Hopefully we will have something better to post about in the next few days.

Have a great weekend!
