Eclipse

A group of girls from my work were so excited when we found out that Eclipse was going to be released in the summer. We had joked about taking off work to go to the midnight showing of the previous 2 movies in the Twilight Saga. So this movie we decided we needed to get shirts and act like crazy "Robsessed" teenagers! Not only did we see the midnight showing of Eclipse, we got to the theater at 5 to watch the trilogy! We all had such a good time and the movie was AMAZING!! I can not wait to see it again!

Me with my friend Melanie waiting in line to go into the theater.

Vacation Bible School

This year I volunteered to teach a class for Vacation Bible School. Our theme was Egypt. We had an amazing week in ancient Egypt learning all about Joseph's journey from prison to palace. I am so glad that I was a part of this VBS. It was a lot of work, but all worth it in the end. The kids, teens, and teachers were all exhausted by Friday! Here are some pictures (most of them taken by Melissa) from the week and the finale party.

Haylee's Class

My kids in Market Time

This is a free time when the kids could eat snack, learn to make bricks, make their bible verse coin, dress up, make necklaces, pyramids, etc...they got to choose.

After Market, my class would go outside for games then come back in for story time. During story time the kids would learn about Joseph's journey by Joseph!

After story time we would go to our classroom to learn about our bible verse and reflect on the day. We ended with craft time right before our closing. The kids had SO much fun. I think my favorite time was opening and closing. The music was AWESOME!!

This is how we would all look first thing in the morning.

After VBS...

I tried giving the girls suckers with hopes that they wouldn't fall asleep until we got home. As you can see...it didn't work. She ate her sucker and passed out with the stick in hand!

Friday evening was the Finale Party. The kids brought their parents and performed all the songs they had learned. We had bouncies, dress up, hot dogs, sno-cones, and a camel!

Haylee and Briley taking a camel ride! Haylee thought the camel would be pink. She found out that she was wrong! :o) If you ask her about a camel now, she will tell you "Camels STINK!!"

What a fantastic week!! I will definetly be apart of this again.

Date Night with Daddy & Mommy

Travis and I decided that it was time to take Haylee to see her first movie in the theater. We have been waiting for a good movie to come out and were really excited to see Toy Story 3. We decided not to do the 3D movie. We weren't sure if it would be too much for her, so we decided to just watch the regular version.

Haylee in the theater.
After the movie, we decided to treat Haylee to some ice cream at a local parlor. They make homeade ice cream and may not have the same flavors from day to day. It was so good!

We all had such a great time. It made us realize that we will need to have date night with each of the girls from time to time. It really made Haylee feel so special!

The Gift

Last Thursday night Haylee was watching TV with us in bed. An Edible Arrangement commercial came on the television advertising arrangements for Father's Day. Haylee was very interested in this commercial. She wanted to know what it was and where you got something like that.
The next morning I told Haylee that we had to buy a gift for her daddy and asked her if she had any suggestions. She insisted that we go to the "fruit store" to get a gift. I offered a few other suggestions and she was not going to let me buy anything other than an Edible Arrangement.

We arrived at the Edible Arrangement store by our house and I told the workers that she saw a commercial and was insisting on getting something for her daddy. So, the lady got out the book and began showing Haylee the different types of arrangements and containers. Haylee told the lady that her daddy liked watermelon and strawberries then picked out a container that was shaped like a football because he liked that too. I have to say, moments like this melt my heart!! She really knows her daddy! (and she is getting so big)

How could I not buy that for Travis??? Haylee picked it ALL out just for her daddy! She was so proud.

Weekend Fun!

A backyard picnic + blow up pool = Good Time

We have had a great weekend outdoors! I am loving this BIG blow up pool we bought this year. (I am not a fan of the neighborhood pool with 2 little ones, not to mention being in a bathing suit in front of people.) Madi is over her fear of the water. She is fine unless she gets splashed. I think we will be spending a lot of time outdoors this season.

Snack Time

Alternate title: How To Eat Yogurt by The Brewer Girls
No description necessary.

What do you do after a snacktime like that?Align Center?
A bath in the sink!!
Even Haylee got one. I didn't think she would fit in the sink, but she was right-she fit!

Summer Begins!

This past week has been the first week of my summer vacation! It has been wonderful to be home with the girls. We've had a few days of rain so that means a lot of hanging around the house (trying) getting organized.

Since we haven't been up to much, I don't have many pictures...

After naptime Haylee loves to "color on the table". I cover the table with large paper and the girls become artists! Here are some pictures of the first day I did this. This was Madi's first time coloring.

Hard at work...just look at the concentration!

So do I eat this??
(Wish I caught the picture of her face after she tasted the crayon!)
Look at our pretty girl! Everyday she amazes us. Haylee is SO smart and happy!

Ms. Cutie Pie Madison! Full of life...and energy! She never stops running or getting in to something! Madi keeps us on our toes.
She is also very smart, she does everything her big sister does!

Madi will have her first trip to the dentist next Tuesday. She is going in for an evaluation. Not sure if anyone else can see the big "bump" on Madi's gum in this picture, but she has something called an Eruption Cyst.

Simple description:
- Swellings of the gum over baby or permanent teeth, before eruption.

-When the tooth erupts into the mouth, they usually rupture (burst).

(Just ignore my multi-colored nail. I couldn't decide on a color for my toes!)

I spoke with the pediatric dentist in our office and she just wants to confirm this diagnosis and check it out. Haylee actually has her first appt. at the end of this month. Madi is going to beat Haylee to it!

This summer is going to be so much fun! We don't really have anything major planned. I am teaching a class for VBS and we have our annual 4th of July trip to the beach house, other than that we are just enjoying our time together!

May Wrap Up

Here is a recap of the last couple weekends in May.
We went to Bellville to celebrate Grandpa Glowacz' birthday. We all had such a great time visiting with family and friends. We also had WONDERFUL food. Here are a few pictures of the cousins playing. They didn't want to play with any toys...they preferred the rocks!

Aunt Kristen brought out some bowls and they were so happy! Look how busy they are!

For Memorial Day, we set up the baby pool and grilled some yummy food. It was a great day! Haylee LOVES the water (in pools...not beaches). Madi, on the other hand, did not want anything to do with it. She enjoyed watching Haylee swim around like a fish with her sippy and snack in hand.
