Wordless Wednesday

Beach house on Bolivar
This is what we know...

It looks like we made it! Check out this site for before and after Ike photos of Bolivar Peninsula. We couldn't find one with our house. It is unbelievable to look at.

How do you hunker down??

Here are some pictures before Ike tore through Galveston and Houston.

Cloud pictures throughout the day:

Hunkering down... (the calm before the storm)

Enjoying the cooler weather and wind with a little kite flying. Our whole street was outside! I guess we all weren't sure when we would be able to come back out.

Luckily, we all made it through the storm! We had no damage to our house. A few of our plants/trees didn't make it and we didn't have power from 9:00pm Friday night to 5:00 pm on Saturday. My parents in Cy-Fair had no power or water until Sunday evening and they lost their outdoor kitchen. Travis' mom and dad had fence damage, tree limbs down, and roof damage, but they kept power through the whole storm. We hope that everyone made it through like we did. We are praying for the people who lost everything.

We are waiting for news on the beachhouse in Bolivar and closely watching aerial views from the news channels.

I can't find a picture of the beachhouse but you can look back at our last visit during the 4th of July.

Katharine is 1

Our friends, Adam and Jamie, were planning a party Saturday for their precious daughter Katharine. But of couse with a storm heading our direction plans changed. Since everyone was off of work on Friday they quickly rescheduled it for noon to beat the storm. Here are a few pictures...

And the drum roll please...

After much diliberation and thinking we have decided to name our new precious little girl...

Glitter Words
[Glitterfy.com - *Glitter Words*]

We are really excited with our choice and can't wait to get started in her room. (We may begin this weekend due to hurricane Ike). Here is a little peek at our choice...

We are planning on painting the walls green and pink. We haven't really decided how we are going to do it, but we have time to decide. There is a lot to clean out first. I have been using her room for the past 3 years as a storage room.

OOPS!

That is about all I can say!
Haylee was super quiet while I was busy picking up after dinner. Once I realized I didn't hear her I looked up and found this...

Her punishment...

Just kidding! She wanted to "Hep" (help) scrub the floor after watching mama.
Atleast I know that she knows all of her colors. :o) She was naming and pointing to them while I was scrubbing.
How can you be upset with this face??

Necklaces, Football, and Ready for Fall

I have been slacking a little bit in my blogging due to the new school year and the Twilight Series that I started about 3 weeks ago thanks to my friend Stephanie. I am about to begin book 4. I love the books and am looking forward to the movie!

Here are a few pictures that I have taken in the past couple of weeks.
Haylee loves her bead necklaces.
Here she is trying to put on her necklaces by herself.

I did it!

Another pedicure

Haylee is so well behaved. The women in the salon just loved her!

Are you ready for some footbal??

After watching the Cowboys game we went in the backyard and let Haylee play in the sprinkler with the dogs. She was having so much fun.

I don't know about everyone else but I am ready for fall. I think it may have been the nice cool weather early Saturday morning. Of course later in the day it was the usual 90 degree weather. I decided that I needed to make a new fall wreath and a centerpiece.

Here is the centerpiece.

I am extremely ready for cooler weather and all of the fun fall activities. We already have Haylee's Halloween costume!

Update on Haylee: She is beginning to talk more and more everyday. She have a very good memory. Haylee is now putting two words together to make "mini sentences" ("mama car", "macy eat", "here dada") and our conversations are beginning to make sense and have a point. Haylee still loves here puppies and she also loves babies. She gets upset when the babies are crying. She doesn't like it. Haylee is cutting her top 2 incisors and it has made for a difficult couple of weeks. She constantly has her hands in her mouth. I put Hay on the scale the other day and she is still weighing 21.5 pounds but is definetly getting taller. (I will have to measure her this week) She loves sleeping in her big girl bed. I think that she is getting close to potty training. She tells me right after she goes in her diaper. She will stop and say "pot pot" and run into the bathroom. We are close! I think if I can get her to go once she will understand what she is supposed to do. It is super cute though when she sits on the potty for 1 second and then stands up and says done.

Baby news...we have narrowed down our name selection for our new baby girl. We should have a name this week.
