15 months old and a new Dr.

Last week Haylee turned 15 MONTHS OLD! It's hard to believe. Today I took off of work to take her for her 15 month well appointment. Before I get into that let me back track a little bit into last week.

Travis and I decided to switch Haylee's pediatrician because we felt some issues weren't getting resolved where she has been. We both feel like Haylee is continuously getting sick with sinus infections, upper respiratory infections and bronchitis. Well when I went to pick up her medical records we were right! In the past 15 months Haylee has been to the doctor for those specific diagnosis' 11 times. So, I picked up the records on Thursday so we would be ready for her appointment today. But...of course Haylee a different plan and had to have one more visit with her old place. On Friday morning she woke up with her eyes stuck shut with "junk". SO... back to the doctor. We explained to the dr. her symptoms (the usual...runny nose, cough, fever) and we left there with a prescription for eye drops. I was like, ok... we go to the new guy Monday we will be fine until then. Was I wrong!

Travis left Friday night for a weekend of fishing so I was home with Haylee. She woke up at 3:30 coughing and couldn't go back to sleep that night. Saturday morning, when it was a decent hour I called the doctor's after hours line and told her that it has gotten worse, long story short she called in an antibiotic for Haylee. Saturday night same exact thing...same time! Now we are on 2 days of little sleep. Travis gets home on Sunday and both of us are tired and hoping for a better night. Well, it was the worst of all three. She woke up at 10:15, yes...10:15 and was wide awake, coughing, and choking on flem. Well we were thinking, this is going to make for a long night and indeed it did.

However,I was excited when we got up because we were going to see the new doctor and I was hoping for some answers to help my precious angel get well! The doctor was great! He really knew how to make Haylee feel comfortable. Everything he did to Haylee he did to me first so she knew what he was going to do. He checked her out and told us to continue the antibiotic and added some medicine. He also told us to give her Zyrtec daily to help with the allergies. Haylee also had one shot today. It was the strangest thing. She DID NOT cry. Instead she looked up at me afterward and laughed. The nurse said " she's laughing" she couldn't believe it and honestly neither could I.

I know everyone is anxious for her 15 month "stats".

weight- 19.12 pounds 5th percentile
height- 30 inches 35th percentile

She is still so small, but healthy!

Most of my weekend and day today was spent cleaning! Now that Haylee has allergy problems and Travis had allergy testing last week and found out his allergies...we really have to work on deep cleaning our house. It is getting there and looking great!

I will post some pictures tomorrow. I am ready for bed right now! It has been a long 3 nights! Cross you fingers that she sleeps well tonight. :o)

Easter Weekend

Saturday morning we woke up and went to see the Easter bunny. Haylee did not like him. She had to have her picture taken with her cousin. Briley always takes care of her.

After visiting the Easter bunny we went back to our house to color eggs.

Is there grass in Texas???

I will never forget one summer when I went to visit my family, I think at the time they were in Florida (?). I went to my sisters class for her show-n-tell (yes, I am that COOL) . HA! Any way one of the little boys in her class raised his hand when it was time to ask questions... he asked "Is there grass in Texas?" This was so funny to me and still is. Little kids who do not live here in Texas think we live in a "desert" and ride horses to places. Kids are so funny.

So, what made me think of this story you ask? It was today on our LONG car ride back from Abilene. West Texas is the real Texas. Not like here in Houston. On the way home we saw a lot of cactus, armadillo's, big longhorn cows, roadkill, small country towns, and open land. That is Texas. :o)

Our weekend... We had a great time with Kristen and Dave. We left on Friday afternoon when I got home from work. We didn't get to their house until midnight. It was so long. The DVD player in the car really made the trip nice for Haylee. She fell asleep around 8 and slept the rest of the way.

Saturday the boys worked on building Dave a workbench in his garage.

Meanwhile, us girls played games.

Saturday night Kristen and Dave grilled fajitas and had some friends over. We had a good time. Unfortunately, we weren't able to hang with them for long. I guess we are getting old. (sorry guys!)

Sunday morning we woke up and Kristen made breakfast. The boys took my car to Walmart to have the tires looked at. We were having some trouble with the tires on the drive to Abilene. The girls stayed home. We painted Haylee's toes and did whatever we could to keep her awake so that she would sleep on the ride home.

Pretty, pink Spring toes!

We had such a nice weekend. The weather was beautiful!

Thanks Kristen and Dave for having us over. Your new house is so nice and we are so proud of ya'll.

First trip to the ZOO!

This past weekend we took Haylee to the Houston Zoo for the first time with Tim, Stephanie and their daughter Karys. We had so much fun! It is always so cute when we get the girls together. They spend most of the time staring at each other. So cute!

Karys brought her wagon so the girls could ride together.

We arrived at the zoo around 9:45a.m. and we didn't leave until 2:00. I was really surprised at how well the girls did and how much they enjoyed it. I wasn't sure if they were still too young. But you could actually see them watching and following the animals with their eyes.

Haylee checking out the fish in the aquarium.

See how intent she is?? :o)

One of the main reasons we wanted to go to the zoo was to visit the petting zoo. We were bummed out after finding out that the Katy Rodeo didn't have an area for children to pet animals. Neither one of the girls were afraid of the goats. It was really cute to watch them go back and forth and "pet" (or hit) each animal. Those poor goats have to put up with that all day.

While we were there we also slid down a slide by the seal pool and rode on the wildlife carousel.

Ready, Set, Go!

Weee!!

Carousel Pro... Has she done this before?? One Handed!

She feel asleep before we even got out of the parking lot!

Finally

Well, this page has been a work in progress for... (how long Steph??) too long! It has been hard for me to get this going and really get into it because the page is not cute and "decorated".

However, that should be fixed soon. I am having someone "makeover" our family page for us. I am so used to Haylee's totsite and how easy it is to pick a premade layout.

I know that I will love this blog once I get "rolling". The ONLY thing that I don't like about having a blog through blogspot is that I can not check it, update it, or anything because the school blocks the site!!
